At the heart of the design is an archival issue of the Vietnamese publication Công Binh, dated March 20, 1944, published in France for Indochinese workers who found themselves there during World War II. The front page features the headline “THANH-NIÊN! ANH ĐÃ SẴN SÀNG CHƯA?” — “Youth! Are you ready?” a photograph of the entrance to the Đạo Nhất camp in Lodève, and the original newspaper typography of the time. We kept the page almost exactly as it was — no blur, no attempt to make the archive feel modern. The imperfections of the print, the old photograph, and the combination of Vietnamese and French are all part of the story.
